"Travara Lodge Guest House"
Presented with it's first Bridgestone Awards in 2004 and featuring in the top 100 places to stay in Ireland ever since;
This is what John and Sally have to say about Travara Lodge on the Bridgestone site.
"Brendan and Richard's Travara in Courtmacsherry is home to great breakfasts and great craic, so be prepared to giggle.
Readers will recall that Travara featured in the Bridgestone Guides as both restaurant and Guest House for a few years, until Richard and Brendan scaled down their restaurant and took a pause to catch their breath and work out their priorities.
The reassessment led them somewhat sideways, so that their cooking is now focused on servicing the local country market - something they have achieved with incredible success - whilst they also do some bespoke catering.
But not having the pressure of a busy restaurant has allowed them to focus more attention on their accommodation, and to max their efforts to create the most superlative breakfast for guests in their excellent, waterfront Guest House in lovely Courtmac.
Add this to Richard's utterly irresistible bonhommie - Mr May is simply one of the most amusing blokes you have ever met - and Brendan's stonkingly fine cooking, and it conspires to make Travara into a dream choice in the dreamy little seaside village of Courtmacsherry."
